This is great: "Knowing that you are an actor that plays tennis, I ask if you would like to do a bit part as a top-flight tennis player"

Here's some thoughts that apply to bridge as well.

Federer won 80% of his matches by winning 54% of the individual points played! Very similar to bridge, where if you can average 54% in matchpoint play, you're likely to win or get MPs in most of your sessions. Each trick (or hand) is "the most important point", in turn, but then it is no longer - a new trick (or hand) takes its place, and becomes "the most important point" - simply because it is the one now being played. Perform well on each trick (or hand) and the results will take care of themselves.

I really enjoyed reading your article. I felt that it hit the mark but also somehow the teachings of Eckhart Tolle and his book ‘The Power of Now’ reverberated through it.

"Focusing on Performing Well" versus "Trying to Win" is very much saying "Play each hand, each trick, each card you've been dealt - the best you know how. The results will follow."
