It’s been another relaxing week on the Cape. The kids spend most of the day in the pool. And I spend a lot of it in there with them. The weather has been beautiful, other than a torrential rainstorm the other day.
I’ve been doing my normal teaching, and I filmed a few conversations for my podcast. But I haven’t done a ton of work on my own bridge. Greg is out of town, so we haven’t done much. I’m caught up in a novel, so I haven’t done a any bridge reading. I’m rereading Michael Chabon’s The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, which has been turned into an opera debuting at the Met this fall; I have tickets in September and am really looking forward to it. So I figured it was a good time to read it again. It’s very good, even for someone like me who isn’t a comic book fan.
Not a lot of other news. The summer is a slow time for me—which is nice. My sister and her family are just here for another week, so I’ll have more time after that to get some work done. I have a week here with my mom after they go, then back to NYC after Labor Day, probably with a stop at the Warwick regional on the way. If you’re interested in that tournament and looking for a teacher to play with…let me know.
Thanks to those of you who shared your experiences from Philadelphia. Overall, it seems that everyone agreed it was a great tournament and a great site. I’m glad we’ll be back in a few years.
Have a great week!
