Adam Grossack is a professional bridge player originally from Newton Massachusetts. He lives with his wife, Emma Kolesnik, in New York City. Adam frequents the Honors Bridge Club in New York City. Adam plays regularly with Emma as his partner (mostly in high-level mixed events). The pair has had a number of notable accomplishments including, second in USBF Mixed Trials, second in GNT, 4th in the World Mixed Pairs, and Bronze in the European Mixed Championships.
Adam’s major accomplishments at the bridge table started in 2010, at the World Junior Championships in Philadelphia. There, Adam earned his first Gold Medal in Junior competitions, winning the U21 Individual (at the age of 18). Adam has a total of 5 golds and a silver from Junior competitions. In 2012, Adam and his brother Zachary were featured in the movie Double Dummy, (produced by Adam’s frequent partner John McAllister) which followed their silver medal run in the Junior World Championship in Tai Cang, China.
Adam's other regular partners include Laurence Lebowitz, Eddie Wold, and John McAllister. Last year, Adam won the Bermuda bowl and the US Team Trials playing with Eddie Wold, Finn Kolesnik, and Adam Kaplan. The team later added John Hurd and Kevin Bathurst at the world stage for their gold-medal squad. Additionally, Adam won the World Bridge Tour (WBT) in Iceland with John McAllister and Ola and Mikael Rimstedt and placed 3rd in the Platinum Pairs (with John).
Adam won his 5 NABC+ titles playing with Zachary Grossack for the first 3 and Laurence Lebowitz for the next 2. Outside of bridge, Adam loves mountain biking and poker. Adam attributes much of his early success to his parents, Jori and Rocky. Jori got him started at bridge at the age of 8, and both Jori and Rocky were both very supportive of giving Adam a balanced upbringing.
